Abstract

The article examines the role of language as one of the key factors in shaping an individual’s social identity. Language is understood not only as a means of communication but also as an important social and cultural marker that determines a person’s belonging to a particular group, community, or social stratum. The study analyzes the functions of language in the processes of self-expression, social mobility, and ethnic identification.
