Abstract
Chronic kidney disease is a major microvascular complication of type 1 diabetes mellitus and requires early detection in pediatric patients. Creatinine-based assessment of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) has limitations, whereas cystatin C-based equations may provide a more accurate estimate. Our study aimed to compare estimated GFR calculated using creatinine- and cystatin C-based equations and assess its association with glycemic control in children with type 1 diabetes mellitus.
