FEATURES OF THE CLINICAL PRESENTATION AND MORPHOLOGY OF THYROID CANCER IN THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN
Published: 2026-04-18
Abstract
In recent decades, the incidence of thyroid cancer has increased worldwide, while mortality rates have remained relatively stable [Chen D.W. et al., 2025]. Marked regional differences in prevalence, incidence, and mortality persist, with the level of socioeconomic development (SDI) significantly influencing the epidemiological characteristics of the disease, making thyroid cancer a long-term public health concern [Zhang L. et al., 2025]. The increasing global burden of thyroid cancer is accompanied by pronounced gender and regional disparities. In highly developed countries, reducing overdiagnosis is a priority, whereas improving access to medical care remains the key focus in regions with low SDI [Lei W. et al., 2026]. In Uzbekistan, data on sex differences in the histological and morphological characteristics of thyroid cancer remain limited, reflecting the broader underrepresentation of regional data in studies across Asian countries [Mousavi S.E. et al., 2025].
